Nigel Owens has been handed the responsibility of officiating at Saturday's Pro 12 final between Leinster and Connacht at Murrayfield.

The elite referee, who presided over the 2015 Rugby World Cup final, takes charge of a Pro 12 final for the fourth time in his illustrious career.

Previously he refereed the finals in 2011, 2014 and 2015.

"I've got another huge game to look forward to at BT Murrayfield. It will be my fourth PRO12 final and the standard simply rises every year. In recent years the PRO12 finals have been of a similar intensity to international matches and the Guinness PRO12 Final on Saturday promises to be a on a par with any other in Europe this season," said the Welshman ahead of the all-Irish finale.
