Guy Novés included five newcomers to his first France squad as head coach, excluding a number of high profile players.
The 30-man panel released today, is his first since taking over Philippe Saint-André last month.
After a disappointing run at this year's World Cup, which included defeats against Ireland in the Pool stages and New Zealand in the knockout rounds, Novés has opted for a some fresh blood in his squad.
Mathieu Bastareaud, Noa Nakaitaci, Rory Kockott, and Sebastien Tillous-Borde have all been left out of the squad which convenes for a one-day training camp in Marcoussis on 4 January.
Among the newcomers hoping to impress ahead of next year's Six Nation's campaign are Paul Jedrasiak, Sébastien Bezy, Yacouba Camara, Jonathan Danty and Jefferson Poirot.

François Trinh-Duc, Hugo Bonneval and Jules Plisson have also been recalled to the panel.
France begin their Six Nations campaign at home to Italy on 6 February and will meet for a second training camp on 11 January.
The squad for that session will be named on 6 January.
