Paddy Mulligan predicts Joe Hart will be "gone" once Guardiola settles in at Man City

Ex-Ireland and Chelsea full-back Paddy Mulligan thinks Joe Hart is on borrowed time as Manchester City's number one goalkeeper.

With Pep Guardiola replacing current manager Manuel Pellegrini this summer, the Bayern Munich head coach could be on the lookout for a stopper more suited to the sweeper-keeper role, similarly to Manuel Neuer and his former Barcelona keeper Victor Valdes.

"Joe Hart will probably make Guardiola's decision very easy because he's been beaten at the near post an awful lot this season," Paddy told the Rewind podcast ahead of Man City's Champions League second leg tie against Paris Saint-Germain tonight.

"Again last Saturday against West Brom [for Sessegnon's goal], that should have been bread and butter for Joe Hart. I think his days are numbered [at City]. If Guardiola can get the man to replace, Joe Hart will be gone along with a few seven or eight others."

Although, they did escape Paris' Parc des Princes with a 2-2 draw and crucial away goals, Paddy also feels their is a mentality issue around the squad which has seeped into performances.

"To me, there's a weak group of players there, mentally very, very weak at Man City because they don't have the wherewithal to go and play. They should be trying to convince Guardiola, that 'I've got a future here at Manchester City'. It can't all be down to Pellegrini," he said.
