Padraig Harrington headlines Irish challenge as play is suspended in Italy

It will resume on Saturday morning

Play has been suspended for the day at the Italian Open and will resume at 6.30am Irish time on Saturday morning.

Of the Irish golfers in action, Padraig Harrington is 2-under par 14 holes into his second round at the Italian Open, with Michael Hoey on 2-over.

That leaves Harrington in a tie for 53rd at present.

Paul Dunne and Paul McGinley are yet to tee off for their second round, on level par and 5-over respectively

Chris Paisley is in the lead on 10-under, one shot clear of Danny Willett.
