Padraig Harrington to become the first European golfer to tee-off at the Olympics

Padraig Harrington will create his own little bit of history on Thursday, when he becomes the first European golfer to tee off at the Olympic Games.

The Dubliner will be joined in the second group on Saturday morning by Italy's Matteo Manassero and New Zealand's Danny Lee. They tee off on Thursday morning at 11.41am Irish time.

Seamus Power will be in the third last group on Thursday. He will play with SSP Chawrasia from India and Chinese Taipei's Wen-Tang Lin. The trio begin their competition at 2.47pm Irish time.

Bubba Watson, the pre-tournament favourite will be joined by Martin Kaymer from Germany and India's Anirban Lahiri. The Masters champion Danny Willett is paired with Matt Kuchar and China's Haotong Li.

The Open champion Henrik Stenson will play with Rafa Cabrea-Bello and Thongchai Jaidee in the final group on Thursday.

All 60 competitors will be guaranteed to play four rounds as there is no cut after the second round. The Olympic champion will be crowned on Sunday evening.
