It has been a disappointing opening day for Paul Dunne at golf's Nordea Masters.

The Greystones golfer started with a 5-over round of 78 and is 10 shots behind the leader Renato Paratore.

The Italian has a one shot advantage over the field at 5-under.

Last week's BMW PGA Championship winner Alex Noren's opened with a 2-over 75.

Dunne, who has qualified for this year's US Open major tournament later this month, managed just one birdie on a difficult day.

The 24 year old double bogeyed both the 5th and the 14th, while he also bogeyed the 9th and 17th.
