Paul O’Connell's cash pile grows to €1.3m

Former Ireland and Munster forward, Paul O’ Connell may have had to retire earlier than expected following a serious injury at last Autumn’s World Cup, but he continues to perform very well financially off the field.

According to the latest filed accounts of his company,Nellcon Ltd, its accumulated cash amounted to €1.3m.

During the previous year profits at the firm went up by €143,627.

The accounts show that payment to the two directors of the firm, Paul and Michael O’ Connell amounted to a more modest €21,000 in 2014.

According to SoloCheck, the company's principal activity is advertising, and it has been operating for 11 years.

The former-Irish captain has been dipping his toes in the world of coaching lately and French Top 14 club Grenoble have released images of the Munster legend helping them out in training.

Coached by former Leinster hooker Bernard Jackman, the club are mid-table in this year's Top 14.

O'Connell was invited down by his former Munster team-mate Mike Prendergast, who is a skills coach at Grenoble.
