As if to emphasise that their position at the head of the Guinness Pro 12 table is totally deserved, Connacht pulled off a standout victory on Saturday as they defeat Munster 18-12 at Thomond Park.
Winger Tiernan O'Halloran, who scored a crucial try on 17 minutes, joined Off The Ball tonight and he says proving doubters wrong did fuel their desire to claim a major scalp.
"There was a bit of frustration because a lot of people were talking and saying 'Connacht are only towards the top of the table because of the World Cup'. We were all in it to prove everybody wrong and put in a big performance in an inter-pro away from home," he told Joe Molloy.
He also spoke about the way in which head coach Pat Lam has instilled an appreciation for the ball.
"We were all given a ball. We were taught to look after it as if it was one of our kids he was saying. Basically, every meeting, any time you saw Pat, you had to have a ball," he said, also going on to discuss how the province has evolved since he joined in 2009 as a teenager.
