Pep Guardiola could be sacked by Bayern Munich before the summer as the hierarchy of the German club remain upset with how the Spanish manager has handled the end of his reign according to reports.
The understanding is that Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Uli Hoeness and Matthias Sammer are not happy with Pep's announcement that he would leave the club at the end of the season. Manuel Pellegrini announced he would be leaving Man City at the same time and this forced the English club to announce they had agreed terms with the former Barcelona manager to become their new manager.
Bayern Munich believe that they have moved mountains for Pep but speaking to Off The Ball near the end of Pep's second year in charge, Graham Hunter outlined some of the tension that appears to have been building for some time, not least due to the fallout between Pep and Dr. Müller-Wohlfahrt over his methods.
Hunter said, "Increasingly over the last two months, he has had to cope with an injury plague and there's a bill for that - somebody is responsible. I don't claim to know that it's Pep's training methods or the fallout that has happened between Pep and the club doctor, although there is clearly tension between [Hans-Wilhelm] Müller-Wohlfahrt and Pep about the way in which Javi Martinez and Thiago built back from their repetitive and damaging injuries."
Press conferences have become tetchy and the focus of most questioning revolves around the manager and not the fact that the club are in contention to win a treble. Despite having brought an aesthetically pleasing style of play to the Allianz Arena, Guardiola has failed to bring the Champions League trophy to the club. His side have been embarrassed by both Real Madrid and Barcelona in the semi-final of the competition and this has not gone unnoticed at the club. The man he replaced, Jupp Heynckes, won it in his final year and there are question marks over what Pep has brought to the club, aside from domestic dominance and the sideshow that has become the last few weeks since it was announced that he would become the new manager of Manchester City.
