Pep Guardiola wants Yaya Toure in his team, but not until his agent apologises

Yaya Toure has played 90 minutes of competitive football this season for Manchester City.

The 33-year-old Ivorian has not played a game in anger, since starting for Pep Guardiola's side in the Champions League qualifier against Steaua Bucharest in August.

Toure has failed to feature for the team since that game, due to comments made by his agent Dimitri Seluk. After Toure was omitted from Manchester City's 25-man Champions League squad, Seluk claimed the midfielder has been "humiliated" by Guardiola.

After Seluk's comments, Guardiola announced that Toure would not play for the club until Seluk apologised to the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager. That position still stands.

Speaking on Tuesday, Guardiola revealed that he hoped to rotate his team ahead of the EFL Cup game with Manchester United, and that included bringing Toure back into the team.

"You know the situation. I would like to come with Yaya, believe me, I would like, but you know the situation."

Despite only playing once this season, with the team, Toure remains fully fit, and trains with the squad on a daily basis.

Toure and Guardiola worked together at Barcelona, where they won a Champions League together along with two La Liga titles. The Ivorian was sold to Manchester City by Guardiola in 2010.
