By the time the next New Years chimes, Ireland and Munster legend Peter Stringer will be 39.

In the winter of his career, the Corkman remains completely evergreen as today's evidence prove.

Aviva Premiership side Sale Sharks have named the former Ireland scrum-half as their Player of the Season at last night's annual Sale Sharks Supporters Club Dinner last night.

The 38-year-old joined Sale in May 2015 on a one-year deal and has played 1,231 minutes this season in a total of 22 appearances.

Stringer won 98 caps for Ireland in over a decade on the international scene, which saw him win the Six Nations Grand Slam as well as Heineken Cups with Munster.
