Petit Mouchair stuns Nichols Canyon in the Ryanair Champion Hurdle

Henry de Bromhead and Jessica Harrington were the big winners on the final day of the Leopardstown Christmas Festival.

Petit Mouchair was a surprise winner of the Ryanair Hurdle for De Bromhead, leading from start to finish to claim the victory at 6-1 ahead of the odds on favourite Nichols Canyon.

Harrington's Our Duke meanwhile was the winner of the other Grade 1 on offer - the Neville Hotels Novice Chase - finishing ahead of Coney Island.

His trainer was impressed with how he claimed victory from the brink of defeat.

Meanwhile Willie Mullins had two more winners today to take his total for the festival up to 14, first with Battleford in the Maiden Hurdle and then Let's Dance in the Mares Hurdle.

Elsewhere the 3.05 Handicap Hurdle went to Exactoris for Joseph O'Brien at 4-1. The opening Handicap Chase went to 12-1 shot Courtncatcher.

The final Flat Race of the festival was won by Quick Grabim at 9 to 4.

Elsewhere in Limerick Wilie Mullins had another three victories, including the feature Grade Two Guinness Novice Hurdle with Penhill.
