There was plenty of action in the English Premier League on Saturday with seven matches played throughout the day.

In the early kick-off, Arsenal increased the pressure on David Moyes and piled more misery on Sunderland supporters who have yet to see their team register a league win this season.

Two goals apiece from Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud gave the Gunners the win while a Jermain Defoe penalty was Sunderland's only goal. The 4-1 win moves Arsenal onto 23 points.

Man United fired an impressive 37 shots in the general direction of Burnley keeper Tom Heaton's goal but none were successful. United dominated possession and territory but were unable to break the deadlock and had Ander Herrera sent off for two bookable offences in the 68th minute.

The draw leaves Man Utd sitting in 8th place in the league, level on points with Watford.

Goals from Gaston Ramirez and Stewart Downing gave Middlesbrough a 2-0 victory of Bournemouth. Middlesbrough move onto 10 points but are still two behind today's rivals.

Tottenham hosted champions Leicester City at White Hart Lane where Vincent Janssen's penalty gave the Londoner's the lead just before the break. Musa equalised just after half-time and the match finished 1-1.

Watford stretched their unbeaten run to four matches with a 1-0 win over Hull. An own-goal from Michael Dawson was the difference between the sides.

Sergio Aguero and Ilkay Gundogan both scored twice as Man City beat West Brom 4-0 at the Hawthorns. The win keeps the Manchester club in top spot on goal difference on 23 points.

Liverpool kept pace with the leaders after a 4-2 win at Crystal Palace. Goals from Can, Lovren, Matip and Firmino were enough to take all three points. James McArthur bagged a brace for Palace.
