Preston sign former League of Ireland striker Eoin Doyle

Preston North End have completed the signing of former League of Ireland footballer Eoin Doyle.

Doyle spent last season on loan with the club before signing a permanent deal from Cardiff City.

"From the minute I walked into the changing room, the lads were great. They made me settle very easily," the 28-year-old told the club’s website.

"Even though I was a loan player, I didn’t really fell like I was a loan player all season so it was a very easy decision to make."

"It's a tight group, all of the lads fight really hard for each other because they all like each other and they're willing to put in the extra effort and that helps massively come game day.

"The family is happy that we are going to be here for the next three years at least, it's a massive weight off the shoulders and it's nice to have.

"It felt like I wasn't a loan player last year but it's always in the back of your mind and that's not the case now which is brilliant."

The Dubliner made 23 appearances last season and joins on a three-year deal.

"We are delighted that he’s signed, I think it will bring added competition. I don’t think people have seen the best of him yet, but I’m confident that he’s got the ability to make things happen for us so I’m really pleased," said manager Simon Grayson.
