The UFC Lightweight champion feels excluded from the developments of the last two days
While the discussion rages over the prospect of Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz meeting again at UFC 200, there is one person who feels completely overlooked.
UFC Lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos was the original opponent pencilled in to face the Notorious at UFC 196. A broken foot - which he sustained while sparring two weeks before the fight - forced him to withdraw and he was promptly replaced by Nate Diaz.
The fight was bulked up to Welterweight and well, we all know what happened next.
But nobody could have predicted that the new pairing would be in with a chance of facing each other again so quickly after the first fight. And although nothing has been confirmed yet, reputable sources from within the trenches of the UFC are speculating that McGregor will seek to avenge his defeat to Diaz this coming July.
It is also rumoured that the rematch will be a Lightweight bout which is where an irate Rafael Dos Anjos comes in with his fairly understandable complaints.
@UFCONFOX Mcgregor vs Diaz 2 make no sense, I would beat theses 2 guys on the same night— Rafael dos Anjos (@RdosAnjosMMA) March 18, 2016
@RdosAnjosMMA The fans don't want to see you pull out again.— Michael Yare (@Topomanyare) March 18, 2016
Will this online outburst have any impact on the UFC 200 fight card? It seems unlikely.
