Richie Towell set for loan move back to the Championship

Brighton and Hove Albion confirmed their long-awaited return to England's top flight last month with a 2-1 win over Wigan and have already begun preparing for life in the Premier League.

Former Ireland international Chris Hughton makes his return to Premier League management for the first time since 2014 when he was sacked by Norwich City.

Over the summer months he'll be adding to his squad to cope with the demands of the fixture list and will also have to think what he will do with players not in his immediate plans.

One of those players, it appears, is former Dundalk midfielder, Richie Towell.

Since moving to the Championship club 18 months ago, Towell has made only a handful of appearances in a blue and white shirt, featuring twice in this year's FA Cup. He didn't manage to make a starting line-up in the Championship and Hughton says he expects Towell to go out on loan this autumn.

"Players like Rohan (Ince) and Richie will go out on loan," he told The Argus.

"We have been really delighted with Richie but we are very keen for him to get out on loan to the Championship next season."
