Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy staying at Leicester - Claudio Ranieri

Claudio Ranieri says he is certain that in-form pair Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez will be with the club after the January transfer window.

Vardy has courted attention from England's top clubs after his impressive scoring run saw him break Ruud van Nistlerooy's long standing goal record, scoring in 11 consecutive games.

Mahrez, meanwhile, has 13 goals for the season and has chipped in with a further seven assists.

In response to speculation linking the duo with a move away in January , the Italian's answer was simple: "Nobody goes from Leicester".

"They have said they want to stay and fight until the end and build with me and the chairman and our fans a big Leicester.

"We are a solid team and we want to continue together with everybody."

England striker Vardy's current deal lasts until the summer of 2018 while Algerian winger Mahrez is under contract until 2019.

"They are concentrating, they must be very professional. It is not important now the contract" he continued.

"They have their agents but it is another thing to play. For this reason they pay their agents to think about the contract.

"If they think about too many other things and not the real job, they will not continue to improve.

"We’ve had a fantastic half-season, it’s unbelievable what we are doing and we must continue. We are building the team, building the personality."

The Foxes sit joint top of the table alongside Arsenal at the halfway point in the campaign and Ranieri added that his players were free to enjoy the New Year celebrations, so long as they can avoid a hangover against Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

“They can celebrate, they are very, very good professionals" he explained.

"It’s important to celebrate, to enjoy it, because it was a fantastic 2015 but afterwards we have to put our minds on Bournemouth. They are a very dangerous team. For us it’s important to concentrate 100%.”
