Rodgers reveals he has turned down five offers since leaving Liverpool

Brendan Rodgers has revealed that he has turned down five offers since being sacked as Liverpool manager last October.

The ex-Swansea boss, who almost led the Reds to the Premier League title in 2013/14 was eventually replaced by Jurgen Klopp who has experienced ups and downs since succeeding the Northern Irishman.

"I have had five opportunities since I left Liverpool to get back into work, all at clubs I really respect," Rodgers told beIn Sport.

But he also admitted that he will not take on a new position until the summer, adding that at one point he had spoken to Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins, with the Welsh club since led by Francesco Guidolin, formerly of Udinese.

"But I wasn’t going to be available to come into a club before the summer. I enjoy the scrutiny and life of being at the leading edge of the game, but the opportunity that presented itself when I left Liverpool gave me the chance to go away for the first time in five years.
