Ronald Koeman set to take over as Everton manager - Reports

Everton have agreed a move to make Ronald Koeman their new first team manger from next season, according to reports.

The 53-year-old Dutchman, who has been at the helm of Southampton for the last two seasons, is expected to take over this summer.

He will take over from Roberto Martinez, who was sacked by Everton before the end of the 2105/16 season.

Koeman was touted to take over at the Toffees after guiding Southampton to strong finishes in his two years in England, with the side finishing in sixth and seventh with him at the helm.

Martinez had promised to guide the club to Champions League qualification when he took the helm at Everton. However an 11th placed finish this year coupled with their last minute FA Cup semi-final exit to Manchester United made his position untenable.

Everton look set to pay £5m in compensation to take Koeman to Goodison Park.

The Dutchman has managed at a number of high-profile clubs including Ajax, Benfica, PSV and Valencia before coming to the Premier League. He won the Eredivisie with both Ajax and PSV.
