Ronan O'Gara reportedly turns down approach to join Ireland set-up

French newspaper Midi Olympique are reporting that Ronan O'Gara has turned down move to the Ireland coaching set-up.

According to the report, the IRFU wanted O'Gara to replace Les Kiss in the Ireland set up following his move to become Ulster's Director of Rugby.

The 38-year-old has been coaching at French side Racing Metro since his retirement from the game in 2013 and the Munster great was pictured by the Parisian club last week as he met newly-arrived World Cup-winning fly-half Dan Carter to the Top 14 side.

In his Irish Examiner column last week, O'Gara also suggested that he is in France for the long haul, saying: "The best rugby players are over here now. Without a doubt, I am in France for a good few years yet. There were times in my first season where the grass still looked very green at home, but this year I am thinking differently. When I have moments to reflect, I can see the amount of learning still in front of me."
