Rose blooms at right time as Tottenham show off their new-found resilience

Tottenham have moved to within two points of the pace-setters though after a 2-1 win at home to Swansea.

With Arsenal losing at Manchester United, it puts Spurs clear in second place by three points and it was a vitally hard-fought result for the North Londoners.

They suffered an early setback when Alberto Paloschi fired Swansea in front on 19 minutes, a lead that the Welsh side kept until after half-time.

But the resilience which Tottenham have found under Mauricio Pochettino reared its head as substitute Nacer Chadli entered the field of play and scored on 70 minutes, just seven minutes after coming on.

And 77 minutes proved the most crucial moment for Spurs as left-back Danny Rose fired in the winner to keep their dreams alive.

Meanwhile, the result leaves Swansea 16th, just three points above the drop zone.
