Roy Keane reckons Pep Guardiola is the Special One and not Jose Mourinho

Last weekend's Manchester Derby shed some light on the direction the both Manchester City and Manchester United are going and the impact that Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho have had on their new teams.

Manchester City looked a team transformed and dominated United in the opening 41 minutes of the game, scoring twice in the process.

Guardiola has introduced a new style of play which sees the team press with huge intensity while out of possession and remain patient during the attack, waiting for an opening to present itself.

Speaking on last night's coverage of the Champions League coverage on ITV, Republic of Ireland assistant boss Roy Keane said that Guardiola's influence has shown he is arguably the finer of the two Manchester managers.

"What was important when he first went in there, the decision to get rid of two or three [of] what you felt were really important characters for Man City over the last one or two years.

Hart, Toure - he's made a decision - 'You're not for me'. He say's he a challenging coach and he doesn't look like he messes about.

Obviously they're playing with confidence, there's a long way to go in the season yet. He's rotating the squad, players are playing with a lot more confidence after a decent start. I wouldn't like to mess with him.

"The two coaches in Manchester, Mourinho reckons he's the special one. To me, this guy [Guardiola] is."
