Ruby Walsh out of Grand National after fracturing wrist

The jockey took a nasty tumble today aboard Vautour

Ruby Walsh will not take part in the Grand National tomorrow afternoon after fracturing his wrist today.

The jockey was scheduled to ride Sir Des Champs but was ruled out trhough injury following today's falls aboard Vautour in today's feature at Aintree, the Melling Chase, and whilst riding Blood Cotil in the Crabbie's Topham Chase.

Walsh has twice won the Grand National at Aintree, but a hairline fracture means he will take no part in tomorrow's action.

Nina Carberry will instead ride Sir Des Champs, with the price likely to drift come tomorrow due to the change in jockey.

Earlier today, hot favourite Vautour fell during teh Melling's Chase, allowing 10-1 shot God's One to pounce and win the race
