Rob Kearney relishing clash with familiar Welsh foes

Ireland full-back Rob Kearney is looking forward to facing some familiar faces this weekend when Wales come to Dublin in the third round of the 2018 6 Nations.

Warren Gatland's side arrive on the back of a demolition of Scotland and a close, disputed loss against England in Twickenham.

Asked by Off the Ball's Oisin Langan why home advantage doesn't seem to matter as much for Ireland against Wales as it would against another opponent, Kearney said: "I can't put my finger on anything. They're a good team and they're going to back themselves going away from home.

"There's a real element of familiarity amongst the two sides as well which obviously contributes to them knowing us a bit better and the fact that we seem to play each other a lot as clubs and country every year too.

"You get a few wins over an opposition away from home and you go there with a huge amount of confidence so they'll be doing the exact same this week - they'll come over here a confident team."

Wales last 6 Nations win in Dublin was in 2012.
