Ireland and Lions rugby legend Willie John McBride joined Tuesday's Off the Ball to discuss Ireland's trip to Twickenham this weekend.
McBride was keen to praise Joe Schimdt's role in the development of this Irish squad which has seen him amass three 6 Nations titles in five years.
"I'm absolutely delighted for them - I think it's tremendous," he told Nathan, "Now the guy that I admire is Joe Schmidt who has got this bunch together. But, not only that, he has built a group of players very carefully of the last number of years.
"He has built great depth into this Irish team because we've had a number of injuries and yet, he can slip new players in and they just slip in beautifully and he's done that tremendously well'" he added.
Looking ahead to the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan, the former Lions captain said: "Rugby is a peculiar game but certainly we would be going into it with our heads held high.
"The one thing we've got to be careful with is keeping the injuries to a minimum but with Joe Schmidt there, I'm sure we'll take it step by step. I'm looking forward to that."
"I've met him on a number of occasions - he's a person that I really admire but he's one of these people that has this aura and this confident aura. I haven't obviously worked with him as a player but I can understand how players want to play for him.
"And he obviously goes into depth with his game and his plan and he can get players to carry out that plan - which is tremendous."
