Is "snobbery" the reason fans get riled up about rugby test matches?

After three wins from three in the November internationals, most Irish fans are more than pleased with the way things went for Joe Schmidt's side.

For his part, the head coach will be looking to pick up on the smallest details and trying to improve, but some sports fans have been all too keen to point out that these games are "friendlies," and should mean very little.

Writing on OffTheBall.com, Neil Treacy highlighted that attitude among the series' detractors, explaining why it wasn't funny the first time someone made the joke, and still isn't.

This morning, Shane Stapleton joined Ger Gilroy in studio for Off The Ball:AM, and discussed the "snobbery" on either (or both) sides of the argument.

There was also more from our exclusive interview with referee David Gough, as he reveals the stress and difficulty that he dealt with during his decision to come out, and a chat with a superstar in the making, Mona McSharry.
