Seamus Power off to a flyer after stunning 65 at the Sanderson Farm Championship

Seamus Power has gotten off to a flyer in Mississippi today after he finished as a joint leader at the Sanderson Farm Championship.

The Waterford golfer carded a bogey-free opening round in Jackson, with seven birdies putting him up alongside Trey Mullinax on seven under par.

This is just Power's second event on the PGA Tour since earning his tour card earlier this year. The 29-year-old missed the cut as his opening event at the Safeway Open.

"Anything that I get into, I can play," he told Newstalk.com earlier this month. "I don’t have the luxury to pick and choose. A lot will depend on how I’m playing and how I’m progressing. Every time I tee it up, it’s going to be an opportunity to get into contention."
