Serena Williams wins a record 22nd Grand Slam title with victory over Angelique Kerber at Wimbledon

The American won in straight sets against her German counterpart

Serena Williams dispatched of Angelique Kerber in straight sets as she won her 22nd Grand Slam title at Wimbledon on Saturday afternoon.

The 34-year-old collected her seventh Wimbledon title in battling fashion and joins Steffi Graf on a record 22 Grand Slams over the course of her career.

Kerber battled until the end and the two Tennis stars were neck-and-neck for much of the first and second set. Serena managed to pull away at the end and Kerber, in her first Grand Slam final, had no response.

Beyone, Jay-Z and Serena's sister, Venus, were all in attendance to watch Serena collect the illustrious trophy.
