Áine O'Gorman joined Friday's #OTBAM after she announced her retirement earlier this week.
The Wicklow native began her international career when she was 16 and went on to make 100 caps for her country and speaking to Adrian, she said: "It'll probably only sink in when the next round of matches are next month that it'll probably only hit home but yeah, it's been a busy few days and quite an overwhelming few days so no, it hasn't sunk in yet but I'm sure it will in time.
"It's obviously knid of a happy/sad time for me - it's something that I've been thinking about for a long time, to take a step back, to go and talk to the manager to let him know how I feel and then I came to the decision late last week.
"I've been committed for 12 years now and I'm on 100 caps so it's time now to take a step back and let all the young talent come through.
"I'll keep playing my club football for the minute but I'm happy to step back from the internationals and maybe look at the next chapter in what I'm going to do with my life so I'll keep enjoying my club football with Peamount and see what happens down the line.
"I'm going to do my coaching badges at the end of November, my UEFA 'B' (licence) - we'll see what happens then when I've had some time out to think."
O'Gorman also commented on her part in the protest by the Women's team over facilities and funding which resulted in the squad threatening to go on strike ahead of a qualifier against Slovakia only for the issues to be resolved and the team to fulfill the fixture.
