Klopp will never change

Just over one month into the new season, Liverpool fans have seen their side concede a number of calamitous goals as teams have cut through their defense with ease.

"It’s his way. He’s got absolutely unshakeable belief that his methods will be proven right. He obviously knows they need to improve defensively," Daily Mail reporter Dom King told Kevin Kilbane and Richie McCormack last night when asked how Klopp will react to these mistakes.

"They are was good as anything in the league going forward. When they click together, they’re exciting, they’re fast, they have energy and when the crowd gets behind them at Anfield they’re very difficult to play against.

"But there’s one major caveat I have to add here, I don’t think they’re ever going to achieve anything substantial if they keep defending as they have been. I don’t just want to single out the defense, I mean defending as a team," he continued.

He believes that Klopp has a "stubborn" streak and that he is more likely to focus on refining his current strategy than making major defensive changes.

King added that his failure to sign an alternative to Van Dijk once that deal fell through is reflective of his stubbornness.

On the blue side of the city, he added that Everton have started the season without having time to integrate new players or to find a system which makes the best use of the talent in their squad.
