Martin O'Neill's side fell at the final hurdle on the road to Russia in front of a home crowd at the Aviva stadium.

After a scoreless draw in Copenhagen, things started well for Ireland as Shane Duffy nodded home to give Ireland the lead.

The optimism didn't last long however as a hat-trick from Christian Eriksen definitively turned the tide, while a late penalty from Nicklas Bendtner added gloss to a 5-1 scoreline for the Danes.

Our panel looked back on what went wrong for O'Neills side after the final whistle in the Aviva Fan Studio with Ruth Fahy, Stephen Kenny and Andy Lee.

In particular, the focus of the discussion was on whether or not there would be a raft of retirements in light of the fact that the Boys in Green will not be headed to Russia.

We'll be LIVE on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube for Ireland's upcoming games against Fiji and Argentina at the Aviva Fan Studio, so be sure to tune in for more expert analysis from our panels.
