American Jordan Spieth has consolidated his lead at the AT&T Pro-Am at Pebble Beach in California.

He carded a second successive 65 (seven under par) to take a commanding six shot lead into the final round on 17 under par.

The two-time major winner is on course to win his first title since last January.

Remarkably, the young Texan has played 15 rounds on tour so far this season and all have been under par.

His closest challenger is Brandt Snedeker on eleven under with Dustin Johnson and Kelly Kraft a further shot back on ten under.

Ireland's Shane Lowry carded a third round 72 to give him a tournament total of five under with Seamus Power two shots back on three under.

Elsewhere other notable scores sees world number one Jason Day on seven under with Phil Mickelson on four under.
