Springboks coach Allister Coetzee says his side are "definitely underdogs" against England

If Ireland's result against the All Blacks is anything to go by, the omens are not very good for Southern Hemisphere teams.

South Africa aim to build on victories over Northern Hemisphere sides following their three-test Series win over Ireland in June when they go to Twickenham to face England this weekend.

However, head coach Allister Coetzee says the game is going to be far tougher than anticipated.

"We are definitely underdogs this week‚" Coetzee told Sport24.  "We are playing against the second best team in the world on a long winning streak.

"They did extremely well in Australia and reading the reports they are looking forward to facing us. They are a strong team."

The Springboks have won just four of their nine test matches this year and looked on as New Zealand swept to victory in the World Rugby Championship with two games to spare.

England head coach Eddie Jones, meanwhile, has enjoyed a nine-game winning streak.

"Our preparations for this game started in earnest on Sunday night when all the players arrived from their various clubs. We felt we had the full Springbok team together again.

"At training you could see the guys that have played at a high level before and all it took was a few tweaks and adjustments for them to fit in.

"Players came in with different mind-sets as some came from the Japanese league and some from Europe. It is challenging but they have all bought in to what we are trying to achieve on this tour."
