Sunday Night Takeaway: London rivals jostle for top four spot

Tottenham Hotspur beat an injury-plagued Watford at Vicarage Road 4-1 to keep pace with the leading pack as they prepare for the visit of Chelsea on Wednesday.

Spurs dominated the game from the start and went close on numerous occasions through Christian Eriksen, Heung-Min Son and Dele Alli before Harry Kane picked up a slick pass from Kieran Trippier and slotted the ball past Gomes.

Kane doubled Tottenham's lead after converting a pin-point Tripper cross to give the visitors a 2-0 lead.

Dele Alli added a third after Younes Kaboul made a mess of a clearance to put the midfielder in on goal just before the half time break.

Alli got his second at the start of the second half as Spurs picked up from where they left off and continued to pour misery on a sorry looking Watford side.

Tottenham dominated possession and territory before conceding a messy goal by Kaboul in the dying minutes of the match.

The win moved Tottenham up to fourth, ahead of Man City on goal difference.

Elsewhere, Arsenal beat Crystal Palace 2-0 at the Emirates to move to 40 points.

Olivier Giroud scored an almost unbelievable scorpion kick which went in via the cross bar. The hosts dominated the game but couldn't find the second goal with Alexis Sanchez coming close a number of times.

The teams went into the break with Arsenal a goal ahead. The home side kept Palace pinned in their own half for most of the second half and Alex Iwobi eventually doubled their lead.

Petr Cech made a couple of decent saves to keep his clean sheet intact as the visitors mini-revival was snuffed out.
