Robbie Brady was one of the stars of Ireland's Euro 2016 campaign. Despite his French heroics, no Premier League side bought the Dubliner as Norwich's relegation to The Championship last season.
Despite reports linking him to numerous sides, including champions Leicester City, Brady has spent the season in the English second-tier with no sign of moving back to the Premier League.
With less than two weeks in the January Transfer Window, Brady's name has been linked once more with a move to the Premier League, with the likes of Sunderland and Crystal Palace reportedly having bids rejected.
According to the Daily Mail, Brady is Sunderland's top target this month, as manager David Moyes looks to get the side out of the relegation zone. Sunderland currently lie in 19th place, one point away from safety.
On Tuesday night, Sunderland were knocked out of the FA Cup by Premier League rivals Burnley. Goals from Sam Vokes and Andre Gray saw Sean Dyche's side advance to a Fourth Round tie against Bristol City.
After the game, Moyes would not deny that the club had made a move for the former Manchester United youth star.
"I would always not talk about players at other clubs because I think it’s unfair," Moyes told The Chronicle. "But what I will say is that we are trying to see if we can do one or two things."
It looks like Brady may be in a situation to pack his bags and move in the coming weeks.
