Did you apply for tickets to the Olympics? The Moran Inquiry wants to hear from you

The inquiry set up to investigate the distribution and sale of Olympic tickets by the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Shane Ross, is looking for submissions from the public.

The Moran Inquiry will investigate the ticketing scandal which marred Ireland's performances at the recent games in Rio de Janeiro.

In an effort to give a complete a picture as possible, they have invited submissions from members of the public about their experiences in applying for tickets to the Games in Rio de Janeiro this past summer. The closing date for submissions is the 30th of November, either by post or by email.

Anyone wishing to submit a report can send them by post to: Moran Inquiry c/o The Property Registration Authority, The Four Courts, Dublin 7 D07 T652, or by email to: [email protected]

Yesterday International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach called for former Olympic Council of Ireland (OCI) president to be released from Brazil on medical grounds.

Hickey had his passport confiscated as part of an investigation into ticket touting at the Olympic's earlier this year, and has reportedly been seen twice by a cardiologist during his time in Brazil.

The OCI's independent review into ticketing arrangements for the games was due this month, but the publication of the document has been pushed back until after the conclusion of Hickey's trial.

Hickey also stepped down from his role on the IOC executive committee in August after his arrest, and has been in Brazil ever since.
