The UFC won't fine Brock Lesnar or Jon Jones for failed drug tests

Despite testing positive for banned substances in the last month, neither Brock Lesnar or Jon Jones will face fines from the UFC, says senior vice president of public relations Dave Sholler.

Lesnar failed both an in-competition and an out-of-competition drugs test in the run up to his headline fight at UFC 200 and was found to have an anti-estrogen agent (hydroxy-clomiphene) in his system.

Jones also tested positive for clomiphene and was pulled from the card just three days before the fight.

Lesnar's opponent at UFC 200, Mark Hunt, has demanded half of Lesnar's fight purse as he says the substance enhanced his performance and has otherwise called to be released from his contract should his demands not be met.

The WWE superstar and former UFC heavyweight champion made in excess of $2.5m from the bout.

The pair face sanctions from the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) and the promotion has decided to leave the fine up to the Nevada Athletic Commission.

The NAC has the power to suspend and fine both of the fighters and USADA can also impose a similar ban at the UFC's anti-doping partner.

Chad Mendes, who was handed a two-year ban from USADA for testing positive for a human growth hormone, also faces no fine. His sample he produced came from an out-of-competition test not relating to any fight and no commission has jurisdiction.
