On Tuesday afternoon, the nominees for the 89th Academy Awards were announced.
Limerick's Ruth Negga has been nominated for Best Actress, while Ireland will also be represented in the Dolby Theatre by Consolata Boyle. The Dubliner has been nominated for Best Costume Design.
Compared to other years, sports movies have struggled to feature in the main categories. An ESPN documentary on OJ Simpson was nominated in the Best Documentary category.
Due to the lack of sporting nominations, Newstalk Sport asked its followers, to create sporting movies, based on the Oscar nominees. Here is the best of that list.
