"They threw off the shackles" - Kilkenny's Paul Murphy on Waterford

After Sunday's classic between Kilkenny and Waterford, the two teams will have to meet once more next Saturday in Semple Stadium

A 1-21 to 0-24, saw Kilkenny score a goal late in the game, to force the replay as Waterford looked set to book their place in their first final since 2008, and second in over 50 years.

The Kilkenny defender Paul Murphy spoke to Oisin Langan and was still contemplating the consequences of the result.

"A draw has a funny effect. You're happy you have another cut at it but both sides had chances to win the match. The feeling is just happy to have another stab at winning it."

The two sides met at the same stage last year with Kilkenny winning by six points. Despite last years win, Waterford's performance did not surprise Murphy.

"They threw off the shackles", the Danesfort star admitted. "They seemed to hurl very freely... They looked like a real serious outfit. They did last year too, but couldn't hold it for the 70 minutes."

Kilkenny were never ahead in the game and Murphy said the team need to start quicker in Thurles. "We need to get out of the starting blocks and get a few points on the board and dont be waiting around to get into the match"

The four-time All-Star expected Waterford's intensity after they lost to Tipperary in the Munster Final.  "We've been in this position before... We know what's its like to be beaten in a Provincial final."

Waterford have not beaten Kilkenny since 1959. They may not have as good a chance as they had on Sunday next weekend in Thurles.
