Thierry Henry issues strong word of advice to Man United about hiring Jose Mourinho
The former Arsenal legend says the time has come to replace Louis Van Gaal14:46 Sunday 31 January 2016, 14:46 31 Jan 2016
Louis Van Gaal extended his chances of survival by the smallest of margins on Friday night with a much needed win over Derby in the FA Cup.
But former Arsenal striker and Sky Sports analyst Thierry Henry feels, the time has come for Manchester United to dispense with the Dutch coach. And of the eligible replacements available to assume the head coach role at Old Trafford, Henry believes Jose Mourinho is the best candidate out there.
Writing in his column in The Sun, Henry argued:
“The club are crying out for success and Mourinho guarantees that, in spite of everything that happened at Chelsea this season. He (Mourinho) is still an amazing coach and United have got to do something because it is simply not working for Louis van Gaal.

Considering the high possibility that Pep Guardiola will deflect to Manchester City, Henry went on to explain that Man United must act soon to be prepared for that development. Employing Mourinho, Henry feels, is the ideal tonic for their stituation.
“If Manchester City get Pep Guardiola and Diego Simeone or Jorge Sampaoli go to Chelsea, which is possible this summer, United have to react. They can’t just carry on as they are. Some fans want Van Gaal out immediately and they are the people who will ultimately decide his fate.”
United had an opportunity to recruit Mourinho as Ferguson's successor in 2013 but decided against it. At the time, the club cited the Portuguese man's aggressive coaching methods as the primary reason for their reluctance to seek his services.
