Three-time Epsom Derby winner Walter Swinburn passes away

Three-time Epsom Derby winner Walter Swinburn has died at the age of just 55.

Swinburn passed away peacefully at his home in London.

According to The Telegraph, he had been suffering from epilepsy.

His most famous race victory came aboard Shergar, who romped home a 10 length winner in the Derby while still just aged 19.

That victory came in 1981 on the Aga Khan IV owned Irish stallion.

He also enjoyed victory at the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe two years later on All Along.

Swinburn retired from racing in 2000, and became a trainer four years later.
