Tommy Bowe set to miss Pro 12 playoffs after exploratory surgery

Ulster face the prospect of being without Tommy Bowe for the Guinness Pro12 play-offs.

The province have confirmed that they have no new injury concerns after Saturday's comprehensive win over Ospreys, but Bowe recently had exploratory surgery to examine his knee injury.

The winger had been complaining of some discomfort, but the procedure revealed no new problems and Ulster now state they are expecting the 32-year-old to be fully fit for the start of pre-season training after the summer break.

In an update, they said: Tommy Bowe has had exploratory arthroscopy of his right knee to address discomfort he has been experiencing since the win over Zebre in mid-April. The surgery revealed no new injury and Tommy is expected to be fully fit for the start of pre-season."
