Tommy O'Donnell: Ulster victory perfect preparation for Saracens

Another big week and another big performance in Europe beckons for Munster.

Outside the comfort of Thomond Park, Rassie Erasmus' side make the trip to the capital to face Champions Cup holders Saracens at the Aviva Stadium.

They'll come into the game off the back of victories against Glasgow Warriors and provincial counterparts, Ulster.

Speaking on Monday ahead of the game, Munster flanker Tommy O'Donnell said that the pace of both games offered the perfect preparation for the Saturday's game.

"We've had two games where we've tried out a few different selections," he said. "We've come up against two teams who were desperate to keep their seasons alive.

"In the first 10 minutes you could feel that desperation and see just how up for the game they were. Those were two good games to prepare for this week."

The Aviva Premiership champions pose different problems for Munster who sit second in the Guinness PRO12 Championship and who last weekend secured a home semi-final in the competition.

Focus

The focus is now down to preparation, which O'Donnell says is heightened during important European weeks.

"You might do things a little bit more down diligently when it comes to recovery or nutrition. But you definitely try to enjoy it a little bit more. Enjoy the atmosphere."

O'Donnell also added that he expects the support to be as big as ever because they will be playing only a short distance up the road.

"The last two semi-finals we've been in and we've had incredible support. Both stadiums we've been in have been half full with Munster supporters. This time it's only two hours away. There's no boats or planes required."
