Tottenham Hotspur likely to play Champions League games at Wembley next season

Tottenham Hostpur are in negotiations with the FA that could see them playing their Champions League games at Wembley next season with recent talks going smoothly according to ESPN

The club are moving stadium at the end of next season and in order to keep pace with the schedule, Spurs could remove the north end stand, which would drastically decrease the maximum attendance at the stadium that currently holds just over 36 thousand people.

A previous report by ESPN had suggest Tottenham considered using MK Dons' stadium that seats over 30,000 but negotiations are going well with the FA and a deal looks like it could be arranged for £23 million for the year with the option for another year should the club experience delays in building their new stadium.

Wembley is 14 miles southwest of White Hart Lane and with Daniel Levy "personally negotiating" with the FA, the deal is said to be "looking more likely than not."

The same report suggests Chelsea are interested in using Wembley in the same manner but they have not entered formal talks with the FA and remain behind Spurs in the race to claim Wembley as their temporary home.
