Tyson Fury courts controversy again over sexist remarks

Tyson Fury finds himself mired in controversy yet again thanks to a YouTube video posted on November 25th that shows him making sexist remarks about women in boxing and sports in general.

The new World Heavyweight champion was asked about women in sports and he replied, “It's up to everybody what they want to do. I'm all for it; I'm not a sexist. I believe if a man can to go work all his life a woman can. Who am I to say 'don't do that 'cause you're a girl?' But I believe a woman's best place is in the kitchen and on her back. That's my personal belief. Making me a good cup of tea -- that's what I believe."

Fury had received criticism over homophobic comments made that he has vehemently denied but in his most recent video when asked about women in boxing, he says, "I think they are very nice when they're walking around that ring holding them cards," he continued, "I like them actually; they give me inspiration when I'm tired and I see them wiggling around with their Round 2, Round 8. I think women in boxing is very good."

He has since posted on Twitter hoping that he doesn’t win the BBC Sports Personality of the Year. A petition began doing the rounds to remove him from the shortlist, which has accumulated some 45,000 signatures, but BBC say they will not remove his name from the list because he was nominated for his sporting achievement as opposed to anything else.
