UFC No.1 Pound for pound fighter backs Dos Anjos ahead of UFC196

UFC pound for pound No. 1 Jon Jones feels that Conor McGregor will fail to take the lightweight belt off incumbent Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC196.

McGregor is striving to become the UFC's first two belt champion when he takes on Dos Anjos on March 5th in Las Vegas, but the former light-heavyweight champion feels the smart money is on the Brazilian.

Speaking in a recent interview, he said; "I'm a big fan of McGregor, I'm becoming a huge fan of RDS (Dos Anjos)."

"Based on RDS' performances, I think I'm going to go with him. I'm not rooting for either person but if I had to put my money on someone, I'd put it on RDS."

'Bones' feels that if Dos Anjos can put in a performance on a par with his most recent fight, where he defeated Donald Cerrone, then that should be good enough to retain his belt against McGregor.

"Cerrone's my teammate and I watched him prepare and I knew he was super prepared to become a world champion."

"The way that fight went just shows me what level RDA is on. So if I had to put my money on it, I think I'd go RDS."

Jones himself has not fought inside the Octagon in over a year following a hit-and-run incident, but it is expected he will fight current light-heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier in April.

Elsewhere, McGregor won 'Fighter of the Year' at an MMA awards ceremony last night, where he kindly let everyone know he was deep in preparation and how he viewed some of the other fighters within the company.
