Eoin Sheahan and Phil Egan were in the hot seats for World Cup Daily on Off the Ball with the opening match almost upon us. 

Spain's chaotic Wednesday stole the show as they replaced Julen Lopetegui with Fernando Hierro but the show moved on today to the classic encounter that is Russia v Saudi Arabia. 

The panel took a trip down memory lane and looked back some opening day classics - including Diana Ross' epic penalty miss at the opening ceremony for USA '94.

John Duggan dialled in from Moscow to confirm that he's going with Brazil to win the tournament with Uruguay as his dark horse.
