WATCH: Frightening video of former rugby player's brain "cut out" while discussing the impact of head injury

Scottish former rugby union player John Shaw was being interviewed by the BBC

John Beattie is currently working with the BBC in an attempt to gather information about the impact of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) which is a result of repetitive blows to the head.

The clip below is an extract from an interview conducted with former Scottish former rugby union player, John Shaw, and features a disturbing "cut out" suffered by Shaw.

The 47-year-old, who was capped by Scotland A and played for Glasgow, appears unable to remember the question just seconds after he’s asked about his future.

The brain shut down is a worrying symptom of what could well be a result of CTE.
