Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson will fight for the light-heavyweight title for the second time in 18 months at UFC 206 in December.
Cormier defeated Johnson via third round submission in May last year to claim the title and has since defended it against Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 192.
He now prepares to take on 'Rumble' once again, with Johnson in scintillating form since his defeat to the 37-year-old. His last three fights have earned him three TKOs, two Fight of the Night bonuses and one Performance of the Night bonus.
The pair recently appeared on Canadian Breakfast Television ahead of the fight, and host Dina Pugliese accidentally let slip about Cormier's knee injury. Upon mentioning the injury, Johnson admitted he had not known about his knee problems until that point.
In defence of Pugliese, she claims that Cormier has spoken about his knee injury to the press and he did so in April of this year when he told MMAFighting.com: "You know my knee, my ACL has been torn forever."
The NCAA wrestler was supposed to take on Jon Jones in a title unification fight at UFC 200 in July earlier this, but Jones was pulled from the card on the week of the fight after testing positive for a banned substance.
Cormier was forced to take on Anderson Silva in a catchweight fight and recorded a win over the MMA legend.
