Former Cork City player Roy O'Donovan was on target for Central Coast Mariners on Sunday in the A League with a stunning goal.

O'Donovan showed the presence of mind to chest a lofted ball down, swivel towards goal and volley a stunning shot into the back of the net.

The goal turned out to be nothing more than a consolation as it merely made the score 4-2, as Mariners sunk to defeat against Adelaide United.

Before you call for O'Donovan to get on the plane to France, it might be worth remembering that he is just returning from a long ban for headbutting Wellington defender Manny Muscat.
